Not a Fashionista, But I do Love Trends!
Ok. So….Let’s start here: this is not a fashion blog! This is a delightful contradiction of being a trend enthusiast without the fashion pedigree. Not a trendsetter, but a reluctant trend follower, where comfort meets style because following trends is my social experiment. Here’s what I do:
I am Fashionably Confused: I approach trends like a foreign language. I don’t speak it fluently, but I throw in a few phrases here and there just to keep up. Sometimes I nod knowingly. Other times, I am utterly lost. People assume I am trendy because I wore something that accidentally became trendy six months later. It’s not foresight, it’s just pure coincidence.
I am Confused by Couture: I pretend to understand high fashion runway shows. Nodding sagely while secretly wondering why models are wearing dresses made of bubble wrap. The avant-garde spectacle becomes like a cryptic code for me, a foreign dialect that requires a PhD. My attempts to decode this language often results in disasters.
I am a Casual Chic Professional: Who says trendy can’t be comfy? I have mastered the art of casual chic, blending somewhat latest trends with my favorite cozy pieces. The result? Effortless cool. I am telling you, is a secret disguise between looking polished and prioritizing comfort over couture. This is me rebelling against stiff collars and high heels, and I declare that “I can be professional and cozy, in the same time!”
I use Accessories as Magic Strategy: Accessories are my secret weapon. A statement necklace here, a trendy scarf there – suddenly, my basic outfit transforms into a fashion-forward ensemble. I might not know the latest clothing trends, but add a funky hat, cool sunglasses, and a statement necklace – suddenly, I am a trendsetter, or at least a stylish enigma. It’s all about the details, darling.
I am a Sales Hunter: Why splurge when you can snag trendy pieces on sale? I have a knack for finding the best deals on the hottest items. My wardrobe is proof that style doesn’t have to come with a huge price tag. My shopping strategy? Hunting down sales like a detective on a mission. I might not understand all the trends, but I’ll be darned if I pay full price for them. Sure, my clothes might not have designer labels, but who needs them when I have mastered the art of looking fabulous without breaking the bank?
My Online Shopping Fiasco Saga: Online shopping is my nemesis and best friend. The expectation vs. reality meme was practically invented for me. What arrives at my door often looks like a distant, less fashionable cousin of what I ordered. This is where the reality meets the questionable decisions made in the virtual retail wonderland. All of this is leaving me questioning if I am a trendsetter or a pawn of the elaborate game of fashion roulette.
I am a Comfort Zone Defender: Comfort is non-negotiable. I refuse to suffer for fashion. Those towering heels and restrictive garments? No, thank you. I opt for stylish sneakers and flowy outfits that allow me to conquer the world without any discomfort.
The Statement Piece Aficionado: I invest in statement pieces that effortlessly elevate my entire outfit. A bold jacket, a funky bag, or unique shoes ( mainly sneakers and boots ) – become the focal point, turning even the simplest attire into something special.
I go by the “Own Your Style” Mantra: My fashion philosophy? Own your style, trends and all. I might not be a fashionista in the traditional sense, but my style is uniquely mine – a blend of comfort, trends, and a whole lot of confidence. Wear the trends with confidence, making them look tailor-made for you, regardless of what fashion magazine dictates.
